The coming of any new year is inevitably associated with a number of traditions: New Year’s resolutions, ‘first footing’ to bring the household good luck, and for some, commitments to abstain from alcohol as part of a ‘Dry January’ reset. To those annual traditions we can add the glut of predictions from would-be psychics, and the subsequent uncritical coverage of their prognostications from newspapers keen to fill their pages in the post-festive lull.
The start of a new year also affords skeptics the opportunity to look back at the previous twelve months, to check in the superstitious seeings of those sayers of sooth, and how accurate they were – or weren’t.
Psychic Sally
Though no longer at the heights of her fame that saw her playing packed venues on 200-date country-wide tours, Sally Morgan remains the most recognisable name on the UK psychic circuit (admittedly, partially due to the deaths of peers like Derek Acorah and Colin Fry).
It’s hard to deny that Sally’s star-power is well and truly on the decline. In the past, I witnessed Sally mostly fill Liverpool’s 2,400-seater Empire Theatre, in a tour that also took in Manchester’s Opera House (1,900 seats) within the same week; these days, her trip to the North West skips both cities, instead favouring gigs in Crewe (700 seats), Runcorn (420 seats), Bacup (500 seats), St Helens (700 seats), Fleetwood (650 seats) and Lancaster (460 seats). Tickets still widely available, at the time of writing at least.
Perhaps related to the shine fading from Sally’s star is her recent pivot in supernatural abilities. Gone are the days where here powers extended only as far as being possessed by the spirits of dead toddlers (complete with childlike voice) whose tragic stories had previously appeared in the national press – these days her talents include predicting the future, via a combination of numerology, astrology and Chinese astrology.
“In numerology, 2025 is a Universal Year 9 (2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9). The number 9 symbolises completion, wisdom, and transformation. It’s a year to reflect on the past, let go of what no longer serves you, and prepare for a new cycle.”
Frankly, this whole reading is more underwhelming than the time in Liverpool I saw an audience member confirm the reason the name ‘Shell’ or ‘Michelle’ made sense to her was that sometimes the dead father Sally was talking to used to buy his petrol from a Shell garage. Who could possibly see supernatural insight in:
“Key themes of a 9 year include: Endings and Beginnings: This is a time to release outdated habits, relationships, or circumstances. By creating space, you invite fresh opportunities to enter.”
“Humanitarian Efforts: The number 9 carries a deep sense of compassion and global awareness, encouraging us to contribute to the greater good.”
“Spiritual Growth: A Universal Year 9 calls for introspection, forgiveness, and connection with your higher purpose.”
“If you’ve been holding onto unresolved issues or resisting change, 2025 offers the chance to finally break free and embrace the future with clarity. It really could be an amazing year for us all.”
I’d suggest this whole numerology reading is lazily phoned in, except Sally takes legal issue with anyone linking her to communications equipment. Her astrology fares no better, as a small sample can illustrate:
“Jupiter in Gemini: Jupiter, the planet of expansion and opportunity, will spend much of the year in Gemini, emphasising communication, learning, and adaptability. This is a fantastic year to pursue intellectual growth, explore new ideas, and connect with others.”
Are there years where that’s not the case? Would an astrologer ever tell anyone “this is a bad year for intellectual growth, try to learn as little as possible and spend the year avoiding other people”?
“Pluto in Aquarius: As Pluto settles into Aquarius, it catalyses transformative shifts in technology, innovation, and collective consciousness. Expect breakthroughs in how we connect, collaborate, and envision the future.”
When in the last 20 years have there not been breakthroughs in communications? Certainly 2025 didn’t particularly stand out for its new technological innovations, above what was already on the market in 2024.
Sally’s cultural appropriation of Chinese Astrology rounds out the generalities – she explains it’s the Chinese Year of the Wood Snake, associated with wisdom, intuition, and transformation, making it a year of personal evolution and strategic action, so:
“Use this year to gain clarity, study new subjects, or make well-informed decisions.”
Again, would her advice in other years have been to make poorly-informed decisions?
“Those born in Snake years (e.g., 1953, 1965, 1977, etc.) may feel a heightened connection to the year’s energies, but everyone can benefit from embracing the Snake’s qualities of strategy, wisdom, and intuition.”
So, the year of the Snake will be good for specific people, but also for all people. Duly noted, Sally.
Those, at least, were the predictions on her website – a website peppered with reminders that her ‘gifted’ team of psychics are on hand to sell you horoscope predictions and psychic readings, for just £1.50 per minute.
Still, not all of Sally’s predictions for 2025 were so generic, nor so directly tied to services she was selling – in February 2024 she appeared on the Mother Half Podcast, where she explained:
“There will be a third world war. So I think that when that happens, it will – not implode – but I think it’s only when we are at war with someone that things will become more reasonable again.”
When asked if that would mean people would invade the UK, Sally explained.
“Yeah… Well, no one will invade because we’ll fight them off. But we will have problems. I don’t think this year, but I think in 2025 and 2026.”
So, according to Sally, 2025 and 2026 will see a third world war – which, presumably, is about to start any day now. However, I’ll not hold my breath for my call up to the front lines to fight off the horde trying to invade the UK, because in the same interview she was asked about the 2024 US presidential elections, leading her reassure everyone:
“Trump’s not going to get in.”
I think we can call that one a miss.
Craig Hamilton-Parker
Craig Hamilton Parker has been active on the UK psychic scene for over two decades, but is yet to make it into the wider public consciousness, despite branding himself as the “Prophet of Doom” and the “New Nostradamus”. And if you’re thinking it took a long time for a new Nostradamus to emerge, don’t worry, Hamilton-Parker isn’t alone – Brazilian psychic Athos Salome hit onto the same branding, naming himself the ‘Living Nostradamus’. Honestly, you wait an age for a new Nostradamus, and then two come along at once.
The British of these two Nostradami was featured in The Metro in January 2025, where he offered extensive thoughts on what last year had in store for us.
It is going to be a politically bumpy year in the UK. I’ve had this vision recently seeing Keir Starmer being ousted from government. I think Yvette Cooper will then step in as the caretaker Prime Minister for a while.
While the year was indeed politically bumpy – when, in living memory, has it not been – Keir Starmer is very much still Prime Minister, and Yvette Cooper is yet to be parachuted into the top job to save Labour’s season.
It is going to be an even worse year for the Tories as well and we will see major defections to Reform from big names like Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg, who are unhappy with Kemi Badenoch.
As of last month, two sitting Conservative MPs defected to Reform UK, but they were hardly the A team – it was Lee Anderson and Danny Kruger. More than 20 former Conservative MPs and more than 60 Conservative councillors have also switched, but not Boris or Rees Mogg.
Harry and Meghan will get divorced. There’s been some talk about this already I know but I first predicted this when they first got together. Harry will leave the US and return to the UK but will have more of an under the radar kind of role. Charles will welcome him back with open arms and forgive him. With William that will take more time.
Harry and Meghan did not get divorced, much to Hamilton-Parker’s presumed disappointment. Harry still lives in the US, and while he did visit King Charles during 2025, he notably did take up a role in the UK monarchy.
It is looking good for Charles this year but Camilla will experience more health troubles.
Charles has spent two years having cancer treatment, but now is faring better, so we can call this one a hit – but a weak hit at best, given that the King’s health was either going to improve or not, and ‘looking good’ isn’t even directly a health prediction. Also, there’s been no real news on Camilla being unwell, over and above her being a woman in her late seventies.
Prince Andrew could end up being alienated further from the rest of the royal family.
We can consider this a hit, given that Andrew was stripped of his titles this year, but as the most famous close friend of the world’s most famous paedophile? It’s little surprise that his Royal duties were minimised. In fact, it was so on the cards that it’s a little surprising Hamilton-Parker bothered to caveat it with “could”.
I’ve got a vision of Trump stepping out of a car and being shot at, so another assassination attempt is on the cards this year. Again, he will survive this and in turn it will make a lot of Americans feel like they have a strong president.
This one is a miss, even though the prediction, at the start of 2025, was literally “man who was recently subject to two separate assassination attempts may have another”. Also, had there been any kind of assassination attempt – car-adjacent or otherwise, unsuccessful or otherwise, we can be sure our psychic would have chalked this one up as a win.
The problem I see though is Trump and Elon Musk’s relationship deteriorating fast.
It hardly took supernatural ability to foresee that an alliance between the world’s two most insecure narcissists might have a short shelf life.
I’m seeing lots of protests in my vision too over controversial policies passed. We are going to see woke rules and laws upturned I think, the Mexican wall built and the removal of lots of illegal immigrants.
All of this could be said to be a hit, but Donald Trump ran on a platform of “I will pass controversial policies that target immigrants”, and enacted similar policies during his first term, so this isn’t evidence of psychic ability, so much as it is evidence of short-term memory.
The US will also try to broker a deal between Ukraine and Russia as well as Israel and Palestine which could result in peace in the area.
Again, these were things Trump talked about during his election campaign, so they were very much part of the political discourse – no Nostradamus required.
Harvey Weinstein is also going to die and with this more celebrity scandals are going to emerge linked to P Diddy.
Harvey Weinstein is, alas, still with us. And as for Diddy, there were revelations about his scandals, but mostly due to the court hearings that were scheduled before the start of 2025. Without Hamilton-Parker being remotely specific about which celebrities he foresaw in those links, this is in the ‘obvious speculation’ category at most.
A big earthquake in Japan is also likely to cause a gas leak.
Earthquakes happen all the time in Japan, and they also frequently cause gas leaks.
I had a vision of fire, smoke and protests in Paris so it isn’t looking good for France.
Protests happen all the time in Paris, and they also frequently involve people setting fire to things – it’s a recurrent theme in French civic engagement.
With the exception of the UK, I see from this a dramatic shift to the Right in a lot of European countries, including in France. I feel like this a catalyst for the rest of Europe – with many governments virtually collapsed.
The biggest surprise here is that Craig Hamilton-Parker thinks the UK has escaped the lurch to the political right – not least given that Summer of 2024 saw the country peppered by race rights inflamed by the far right. Meanwhile, the governments of Europe are not notably close to collapse.

Nicolas Aujula
Perhaps fortunate to even be included in this conversation, Nicolas Aujula is a 38-year old ‘Therapist, Astrologer, Filmmaker’ who runs a past life regression website, replete with media testimonials that are so old I can only assume they took place in one of his previous lives.
Aujula claims he’s been psychic since 17, when he realised he’d had past lives as “a queen in Egypt, a seamstress in China, a nun in the Himalayas, a witch doctor in Africa, a revolutionary, a lion – so many different experiences that make me who I am today.”
His inclusion in this roundup owes much to having built his reputation on having ‘successfully’ predicted Covid-19, Black Lives Matter, the Notre Dame Fire, and Tesco employing robot security guards. The latter of those gives an indication of how little evidence Aujula requires before he’ll accept his prediction as having been accurate.
On the 31st December, 2024, Aujula was featured in The Mirror (and propagated across the various Reach PLC media titles, gifting him an outsized footprint) to offer his vision for 2025.
Prince William and Harry will reconcile and meet face-to-face, and there will be images of this in the press.
His most headline-grabbing claim, and a miss – as ABC News reported in September, Princes William and Harry didn’t meet during Harry’s visit to UK, and remain frosty at best.
Advancements in lab-grown organs
This one might look like a win, given that Gov.uk announced “How human organs grown in labs are helping to develop the vaccines of the future”… however, that story was published on 10th December 2024, three weeks before Aujula’s predictions in the Mirror.
Major wins for women in sport, and women’s sport will be given more attention and taken seriously
Again, this could be seen as a hit, given that the England Women’s team captured the nation’s imaginations when they won Euro 2025 – but that was a tournament scheduled years in advance of 2025, and one that the team entered as favourites and holders of the title.
Top stars in the music industry hosting a big concert to raise money for those in need
If something of the sort happened, I couldn’t find any reference to it, suggesting it may not have been a ‘big’ concert involving ‘top stars’.
A male country singer becoming a big hit.
This is vague enough to be almost meaningless – I’m sure there was a popular male artist in the country genre in 2025, but mostly because country music is one of the best-selling genres of music on the planet.
Improved equality in the workplace – I see that there will be greater wage or salary transparency in the workplace so that employees will be able to see or check what people earn to create fairness.
Keep dreaming, Nicolas – workplace equality took a backwards step in 2025 with the decision to remove the rights of trans people in wider society, but even if you were minded to ignore that (as too many are), there were no significant gains in terms of wage transparency and increased fairness.
Slow UK economic growth
This is best categorised as a ‘good chance guess’, given that economic growth has been stilted in the UK for several years… and arguably decades. However, according to the CBI’s UK Economic Forecast, UK GDP growth in 2025 is projected to be 1.4% – an upgrade from the June forecast of 1.2%. And UK GDP growth in 2026 is projected to rise by 1.3% – an upgrade from a June forecast of 1.0%.
There would be farm closures, companies going into liquidation, businesses leaving the UK
According to various farming-related sources, there were a record number of farm closures in 2025 – however, these were in response to changes to inheritance tax which had been announced far earlier, resulting in protests in November 2024. As for company insolvencies, they were slightly higher overall than in 2024, but were lower than 2023 – so, no significant changes. These feel like predictions based on having read economic doom forecasts from certain media publications, rather than from any supernatural sources.
The resignation of Keir Starmer
Another miss with this one. Psychics really wanted Starmer gone in 2025, it seems.
Katy Perry will have marriage problems in 2025
This is a hit, with Katy Perry’s marriage to Orlando Bloom ending in 2025. Though it is worth highlighting that Perry has had a string of high-profile relationship issues throughout her career, including marrying and then divorcing Russel Brand. She’s now dating Justin Trudeau.
Cate Blanchett has a successful year, I’ve had visions of her bagging a lot of awards for her work.
Blanchett, one of the most popular, prominent, and well-respected actors on the planet, was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, and a Golden Raspberry… but won none of them. She did, however, receive a BAMBI Award for International Actress, the Icon Award at EnergaCAMERIMAGE, and a PETA Fashion Award and was awarded Freedom of the City of London – so perhaps those were the awards Aujula envisioned her bagging.
King Charles’s health will improve in 2025, I’ve seen that he will announce this publicly
This one is a hit, but once again, an easy call – the King had a positive prognosis, and the best treatment (our) money could buy him. And given how public his cancer diagnosis has been, it was inevitable that he would announce what positive progress he’d made.
Meghan will have a successful year doing a TV show or podcast and will focus on family ties.
Meghan Markle’s show With Love, Meghan was released on Netflix, to initially high viewing figures, which faded as the novelty wore off. Do we consider this a hit? Not really: she signed the deal with Netflix in 2020, and news about her fronting a non-fiction show was announced in April 2024.
A Third World War starting from the middle of the year
There wasn’t. But what is it with psychics foreseeing a WWIII in 2025?!
Trump will have a successful year despite legal battles, negative press and a resurgence of traditional values.
Did he have a successful year? That very much depends on how you measure that. He’s not in jail yet, but he is in the Epstein files. Also, that he would have a successful year ‘despite’ a resurgence of traditional values shows a fundamental failure to understand what wave Trump rode into the White House in the first (and second) place.
Environmentally, Nicolas predicts rising sea levels, increased rainfall and flooding that will damage homes and the environment.
The biggest and most predictable crisis of the modern age will continue as it has been for decades? Get this man a cheque for a million dollars!
Trusted Psychics?
Looking back at predictions for 2025, it’s fair to say skepticism is safe for another year – with the closest thing to an impressive hit being the fact that a serially-married pop star would see her latest marriage end. Across the rest, what was correct wasn’t interesting, and what was interesting wasn’t correct.
Still, a final word has to go to the trusted psychics at… Trusted Psychics, whose own predictions for 2025 received a notable mid-year amendment:
“The future grows more obscure because the world changes at a rapid pace. The astrological predictions from Trusted Psychics for 2025 and 2026 have been updated due to unexpected global events.”
