Sorry for the short notice but it looks like there will be a discussion of out-of-body experiences on Radio 5 Live tonight. They’re going to be giving me a ring around 11:15 to do a brief telephone interview from home. (Bear in mind that these timings are always very approximate and they sometimes pull an item at the last minute!).
It strikes me that these kind of last-minute alerts are probably what Twitter was made for. Just caught the Radio 5 thing on iPlayer.
I didn’t hear the previous show but there’s some conflating of NDE and OBE in what was discussed here. NDE seems to be some kind of dream state, and I wouldn’t have thought there was a question of anything paranormal. OBE is testable – if people claim they leave their bodies and gain a (literally) different perspective, they should be able to see things that are out of view when they’re in bed, for example.
Good article – plenty of food for thought.
